Amarillo Wranglers' Struggles Against Lone Star Brahmas
The Amarillo Wranglers faced a challenging homestand, suffering defeats against the skilled Lone Star Brahmas over the weekend at the Budweiser Bullpen. They lost 5-1 on Friday and followed up with a 3-1 defeat on Saturday. Currently, the Wranglers hold the seventh position in the South Division of the North American Hockey League, with 19 points and a record of 9-10-0-1, trailing the sixth-place Oklahoma Warriors by just one point for a playoff spot.
In the first game, the Brahmas quickly took control, scoring early and maintaining their lead through a strong defensive performance from both teams. The Wranglers only managed one goal, scored by Daniel Rassega, amidst three empty-net goals from the Brahmas. The following night featured a Military Appreciation theme, but despite an intense first period, Amarillo couldn't capitalize on opportunities and ultimately lost after a late goal from captain Jacob Miller. Goalie Charles Antoine Girard took the loss in both games, bringing his season record to 5-5.
